Biography
I am a social scientist researching human-water interactions, specifically focusing on diverse knowledge formats, environmental perceptions and behaviour in water management. With my original training in physical geography and hydrology, and some time spent working at the Environment Agency (England), I aim to address water management issues from an interdisciplinary perspective and employ cross-disciplinary methods for data collection and integration.
My current research is centred around water resource vulnerability in Scotland and the (mis)conception of Scotland as a 'water rich' nation. With a focus on rural communities, engagement and policy development, I am aiming to understand the changing water environment and how we may prepare ourselves for resourcing issues through dialogue, collective action and social learning.
