Chris Leakey
Policy/Governance Officer
NatureScot
Biography
I am a Marine Sustainability Manager at NatureScot. The core parts of my role are around marine planning (national and regional marine plans for Scotland) and developing natural capital approaches to marine management. Consequently I am involved in a very broad scope of issues and policy areas.
Of relevance to CREW I also have a particular interest in source-to-sea approaches, seeking better integration of governance systems to reflect the effects, dependencies and benefits that flow between land and sea. See 2023 report: https://www.nature.scot/doc/naturescot-research-report-1343-source-sea-enabling-coherent-efficient-and-synergistic-outcomes#:~:text=This%20report%20is%20the%20result,sea%20connections%20in%20Scottish%20policy.
