Biography
I am a Ph.D. student at the University of Edinburgh. I’m currently working on how to facilitate a circular economy of phosphorus in fertilisers through using human excrement as a nutrient source. My research is focussed on India, how phosphorus flows through the food and agricultural systems, and understanding what barriers and enablers exist around the use of human excrement. It’s an interdisciplinary project involving a combination of social and environmental science approaches.
Generally I’m interested in how environmental social science can be used for sustainable development, particularly at the food-water nexus.
