Ehsan Jorat

Senior Lecturer in Geotechnical Engineering
Biography
Dr Ehsan Jorat has 16+ years of expertise in geotechnical engineering, specialising in laboratory and in-situ testing of soft soil and geotechnical modeling. As a Senior Lecturer at Abertay University, he leads the Civil and Environmental Engineering programme and co-leads Carbon and Biogeochemical Cycles theme at Scottish Alliance for Geoscience, Environment and Society, demonstrating his leadership in academia and research. During the last decade, Dr Jorat has mainly focused his research on maximising soil carbon sequestration capacity as a method to tackle climate change.
