Biography
I studied Civil Engineering and got my PhD in Hydraulics at the Polytechnic University of Marche (Ancona, Italy). Then, I worked for two years and a half as a postdoctoral researcher at the same university. Currently, I have a Marie Sklodowska-Curie Fellowship at the University of Strathclyde (Glasgow, UK).
My main research interests are in the understanding of the hydro-morphodynamics features of rivers and nearshore region. As Ph.D. student, I worked on the validation of Morphodynamics Shoreline Boundary Conditions through the analysis of experimental data and on the use of the data collected by a video-monitoring system. I mainly focused on bathymetry estimation using cBathy code and analyses of the submerged sandbar behaviour in response to wave climate. As a postdoctoral researcher, I worked on in-situ-monitoring and remote sensing systems to study relevant physical processing in the river, estuarine, and nearshore environments. I also used the collected data to develop numerical models of an estuarine area. Currently, I am working on the monitoring and risk assessment of bridge scour in river environment
