My research focuses on community engagement with water to enhance resilience in place. Resilience in this context is an effective place-based response to water-related challenges and opportunities that impact health and wellbeing, including social and economic functioning, and the regeneration of local communities. My work supports socioeconomically vulnerable groups who have the greatest difficulty in resourcing effective responses to climate change impacts, particularly floods and droughts, through providing an evidence base for policymakers to address structural inequalities preventing the adoption of adaptation and preparedness strategies.
