Professor
Biography
John is Director of the UNESCO Centre for Water Law, Policy & Science based in the University of Dundee. He is a Professor of Physical Geography and his systems work on climate and land use change - manifested by issues like soil erosion, flooding and biodiversity impacts - has a strong policy focus. His international work spans multiple countries, including Bangladesh, Egypt, India, Zimbabwe and Turkey. He has served on the Board of Scottish Government’s Centres of Expertise in Climate Change (CXC) and Centre for Research on Water (CREW) and Steering Group for the Hydro Nation Scholars Programme.
