Kate Ward

Biography
Kate Ward is a lecturer in Civil Engineering at the University of Dundee on the Graduate Apprenticeship programme. She teaches a range of subjects including hydraulics, water resources and sustainable infrastructure.
Kate is a chartered civil engineer with experience of design in a wide range of drainage and infrastructure projects, including designing CSO and flooding improvements, SuDS systems and modelling of drainage systems. She also has international experience working on irrigation canal systems in Helmand Province Afghanistan.
Kate's research includes interdisciplinary work with archaeologists on the water supply of Byzantine Constantinople and her research interests are increasingly focused on the sustainability and resilience of infrastructure, the social impact of infrastructure and circular construction.
