Keith Torrance

Biography
Dr Keith Torrance is a Research Fellow in the Dept of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Strathclyde. He received his PhD in 2012 from the University of Strathclyde. He has over 30 year experience working for engineering companies, including 10 years working in Arctic Alaska. His research interests included the impacts of mining on water quality, the characterisation and reuse of sediments, contaminated land remediation, groundwater characterisation, isotope hydrology, and arsenic geochemistry. Since 2019, he has been a part of the SURICATES project investigating the beneficial reuse of dredged sediment. He is a Fellow of the Geological Society, a Chartered Geologist (CGeol), a Project Manager Professional (PMP) and serves as treasurer for the Society for Environmental Geochemistry and Health (SEGH). He is a coordinating editor for Environmental Geochemistry and Health.
