Biography
I'm a pharmacist and a public health specialist working in the NHS in Highland, Scotland. I am one of the co-founders of the One Health Breakthrough Partnership working on more sustainable medicines and pharmaceuticals in the environment (PiE), antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and microplastics. https://ohbp.org
The main focus of my work has been PiE and AMR. I work across the lifecycle of a pharmaceutical developing interventions (and supervising PhD candidates doing so), anything from working with industry to raise awareness of the need for better packaging, greener drug development, to health technology assessment bodies to incorporate env risk info into their decision making, to clinicians and prescribing guidance to patients and healthy lifestyle or medicines disposal advice. I've recently finished a Medical Research Council grant developing a framework to incorporate env risk info into healthcare medicine decision making. https://ohbp.org/2023/10/13/ohbp-participate-in-mrc-end-of-project-event-workshop/
